Unilock Reala Technology

When it comes to creating realistic textures that are indistinguishable from brick, cobblestone, or flagstone, there is no room for compromise. Any paver meant to imitate a classic building material needs to embody its look, its feel, and its strength. At Unilock, we’ve been capturing all all three since 2004 with our unique Reala technology.

As a manufactured building material, concrete is often at odds with the randomized patterns of natural stone. Even old bricks have a patchy unevenness that’s difficult to emulate through cast moulds. When building retaining walls, patios, or driveways designed to imitate those classic forms, repetition would be the dead giveaway that they’re not the real thing. But with Reala, we took that potential flaw and made it an advantage.

Our patented technology allows us to manufacture texture after texture without ever forming the kinds of repeating patterns that lesser pavers are known for. How do we do this? In a word: extreme randomness.

First, we cast a bunch of pavers from moulds of actual flagstone, brick, and cobblestone. Then we randomize the casting process. With so much variation between moulds, we can then ensure that any paver installation avoids repetition, no matter how large or small the project. And the best part of all? Unlike natural stone, Reala provides consistent dimensions, making it a much easier construction material.

Our unique manufacturing process even makes use of pure quartz particles, one of the hardest aggregates on the planet, to deliver a very hard surface with vibrant colors that last for years or even decades.

For contractors, the pitch is easy: These pavers are more economical than actual stone or brick, but just as durable. And for homeowners and landscape designers, Reala pavers offer the look of the real thing without crazy high costs.

Said another way, Reala delivers the best of both worlds: The authenticity of natural brick or stone, with the easy installation of concrete. Retaining walls, driveways, patios, outdoor kitchens—you can find Reala textures for any project. Grace any structure with the classical charm of old world materials, without any of the hassle.

At Unilock, we take pride in our eye for innovation. We’re always looking for ways to improve our processes and beautify our products. As one of our core technologies, Reala plays a vital role in enabling contractors to build spaces that not only look stunning, but fit in with any age or style. For any project in need of that classical charm, look no further than Reala from Unilock.

Hardscaping Is a Tough Business, But It’s One of the Greatest
The bad days are few and far between, but they do happen in this business. When the heat is on at the height of summer, when equipment fails, a crew member calls in sick, or a delivery is late—particularly when those things happen all at once—that’s right about the time you forget about why you went into hardscaping. It’s those times you forget about the wonderfulness of working outdoors, of having your own crew, and of all the effort that went into building up your expertise and skills.
