How Does It Work?
U-Cara is composed of a two-part interlocking system, made up of the Sure Track Backer Block and the U-Cara Fascia Panels. When working together, these two components can create myriad designs for hardscape features of all kinds and sizes, including seat walls, pillars, fireplaces, grill islands, and so many more.
The Sure Track™ Backer Block
Both sides of the Sure Track Backer Block feature precision-molded Sure Track rails. They are six inches tall – the ideal height for hardscape construction. These blocks feature:
- Slip formed construction to maintain height consistency
- An alignment key to ensure rapid alignment
- A setback channel for variable position
Each U-Cara backer block features a key and channel that facilitates stacking and aligning. The channel on one side looks similar to the front, but is used to accommodate the rail of an abutting backer block. Simply place the bottom channel of each block over the top key of the block below to construct vertical walls.
The Sure Track Backer Block comes in two-sizes: standard and large. The standard Sure Track Backer Block is designed for constructing walls below 18 inches tall. These include structures like two-sided seat walls and fireplaces requiring a hollow inside. The large Sure Track Backer Block is used to construct walls and planters taller than 18 inches – think corners, steps, pillars, and privacy fences. Aside from these structures, large backers are also intended for higher engineered walls using geogrid reinforcement.
The U-Cara Fascia Panel
The Fascia Panels are designed to hang securely on the rails of the Sure Track Backer Block. This easy-to-install system quickly and efficiently creates stunning and safe walls.
The Fascia Panels have a number of innovative features, including:
- Available in a wide variety of Unilock EnduraColor™ Finishes for exclusive wall colors and textures
- Interchangeable, removable panels, allowing for creative freedom and fluidity
- High Compressive Strength for impressive durability and longevity
- Sure Track Channels, designed for flexibility of position and precision alignment
U-Cara Fascia Panels are only 2 and ⅜ inches thick, making them very light and easily handled. The patented Sure Track panel mount system ensures simple and precise placement of the Fascia Panels anywhere on the wall, vertically or horizontally, and in any order, depending on the complexity of the design.
Construction Features
The design of the U-Cara Wall System comes equipped with the possibilities to really utilize every aspect of the blocks. For example, when using the large backer to construct corners or pillars, a Sure Track hanger clip is inserted into channels that are located on one side of the block. Using these clips enables contractors to hang Fascia Panels on the side of the block, not just the front or back.
When constructing vertical walls, simply sliding the key into the channel is not the only option. Contractors can also offset the channel to create a 5 ½ degree setback for higher walls.
U-Cara Fascia left and right closed-end panels are also available. Contractors can easily construct 90 degree corners for walls, pillars, and fire features with very minimal cutting.
